Association

On 30 June 2005, the Urology and Technique Association was founded to support the Urology and the Prostate Center Northwest and to procure innovative techniques, diagnostics and therapy.

A valuable cooperation partner

The PZNW and the Association are independent, but they have signed a cooperation agreement.

  • 2005: Until the date of foundation, the Association had to purchase the first da Vinci-System. At the end of the first donation evening in 2005 – and a bit later– the necessary amount had gathered to the start-up.
  • 2008: With the help of the donations which were gathered by the Association, HD video documentation can be made in 3 rooms. It is a very important element of the education and the scientific information exchange.
  • 2010: The Association allows the acquisition of a repro camera, so after the surgery the removed tissue or the removed prostate can be photographed in very good quality- one more investment in research and education, which improves the quality of the treatment.
  • 2011: From further donations the PZNW can buy accessories for the video documentation
  • We hope that in this year we can buy a surgical simulator to help the training of the surgeons. Thus we can shorten the training of the future surgeons; furthermore their training can be continued outside the operations – as it is common in the pilot training.

We still have huge aims, and we would appreciate any assistance.
